A message from Nicholas Ocampo, Dir. of Elections and General Registrar of Roanoke City:
A recent voter placement audit conducted by the Virginia Department of Elections uncovered a segment of voters on the 2600-3100 blocks of Rosalind Ave SW have previously been assigned to vote at the wrong South Roanoke polling location. This audit takes place annually in alignment with our mission to ensure accurate lists and records.
After careful review of both geographical data and precinct boundary ordinances by our office, the impacted voter registration records were corrected on March 28. Each affected voter will receive an official notice of the change from our office in writing via USPS. There is no action required by any voter.
As with every election, it is best practice to verify your voter registration record before heading to the polls. You may do so 24/7/365 by visiting vote.elections.virginia.gov.
Early voting for the Tuesday, June 17, 2025, primary election will begin on Friday, May 2, at 317 Kimball Ave NE. Dates, deadlines and additional important voting information can be found on our website, roanokeva.gov/registrar. Candidate lists and sample ballots will become available the week of April 14.
If any residents have any questions or concerns, please direct them to contact our office directly at 540-853-2281 or registrar@roanokeva.gov.
Thank you,
Reminder: As primaries and elections approach, you can always double check your registration status, your polling location and see what's on the ballot at https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation.
