Like Paint Night but with an Afternoon Twist


All neighbors of all ages are invited to take part in creating a canvas of South Roanoke's artistic expression! With guidance from Roanoke artist Leah Thompson, the final piece is certain to be filled with fun and friendship.

Thank you to SoRo neighbor Kathryn Inda for organizing this event through Arts Connect Neighbors, a collaborative strategy of the Roanoke Arts Commission, the Roanoke Cultural Endowment, and Roanoke Neighborhood Advocates with funding support from the City of Roanoke and an Our Town Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. All neighbors are encouraged to browse the most recent Arts Connect Neighbors catalog for programs available for request!


About Leah Thompson: 

Leah is best known for her expressive paintings of dancers. A Philadelphia native, Leah has been painting for over 15 years. She’s a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and holds a BFA in Fine Arts and a BS in Art Education. She has won many awards for painting. Currently an elementary art teacher for the Roanoke City Public Schools, Leah lives with Jonathan her husband of 20 years, and her son.
