On May 20th, the City of Roanoke’s Transportation Division presented to attendees of Neighbors in South Roanoke's regular meeting a detailed preview of the draft Vision Zero Comprehensive Safety Action Plan—an ambitious initiative aimed at eliminating traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries across our city.
We thank Dwayne D'Ardenne, Transportation Division Manager, and Rob Issem, Vision Zero and Complete Streets Coordinator, for joining us and for providing their presentation materials to share here.
What’s Next?
The Vision Zero Comprehensive Safety Action Plan is scheduled to be finalized and submitted to city leadership this summer. Following that, there will be a public review period, along with opportunities for community input and City Council feedback. The Transportation Division plans a Safety Summit Launch Event in early Fall 2025.
