Summer meeting hiatus is over! Join us on Tuesday, September 15 at 7pm for updates and opportunities from our guests Erik McNair and the Roanoke Tree Stewards. We look forward to learning how we can work together with them and Trees Roanoke to more effectively manage and grow our South Roanoke tree canopy.

Early in 2024, Neighbors in South Roanoke began working with Roanoke Tree Stewards, Trees Roanoke, and the city's urban forestry department to identify and coordinate tree planting sites in our neighborhood. We established a tool for neighbors to request trees and suggest sites. In September of that same year, we planted 15 trees in our inaugural SoRo Tree Planting Event! On Tuesday, let's learn how we can strengthen our relationship with the Tree Stewards and Trees Roanoke for our neighborhood and city's health and beauty. Remember, "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now."
